Somewhere along the way (probably during the early days of Napster) I acquired Jimmy Smith’s album Monster. Smith spins out some covers of television theme songs including The Munsters, and Bewitched, and his version of Goldfinger.
I always knew I liked Smith but I never dug deep into his catalog. This album reminds me that I still have a few lifetimes of great music to discover.
If you’ve never listened to Jimmy Smith know that his instrument of choice is the Hammond organ.
